The Essential Facts of Backgammon Game Plans – Part Two
As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to shift your checkers carefully around the game board to your inner board while at the same time your opposing player shifts their chips toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to complete your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or result a bad position if she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. After you’ve successfully constructed the prime to prevent the activity of your opponent, your opponent doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The goals of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to better your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game tactic uses alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is often employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
