The Basics of Backgammon Strategies – Part 1
The objective of a Backgammon game is to move your checkers around the Backgammon board and pull them off the board faster than your opponent who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a game of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and fortune. Just how far you will be able to move your checkers is left to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and just how you move your pieces are determined by your overall gambling strategies. Players use different strategies in the different parts of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Technique
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to bring all your chips into your inner board and pull them off as quickly as you could. This tactic focuses on the pace of advancing your chips with no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent’s checkers. The ideal scenario to employ this tactic is when you believe you might be able to shift your own checkers faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have less chips on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main goal of the blocking tactic, by the name, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about moving your pieces quickly. Once you have established the barrier for the opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other chips quickly off the game board. You should also have a good plan when to withdraw and move the chips that you utilized for the blockade. The game gets intriguing when the opposition uses the same blocking tactic.
